Where in the world is Heidi Adams?

- Born and raised in Central NY, literally the center of NY! Point to the middle of the state (on a map!) and that's my home town-Cortland. Since you're looking at the map, please note how VERY big the area of NY, outside of New York City is! Guess what...there's a lot of people who are NOT from NYC and I'm one of them.
- I spent a very fun 4 years in Geneseo, NY. I majored in socializing and loved every minute I spent with my sorority sisters and friends. I managed to also swing a BA in Psychology and NY State Certification in Secondary Education. (The only pragmatic thing I did in college!)
- I put on my big girl panties, moved to Rochester, NY, got a job (actually I got 2 or 3 jobs) and went onto Graduate School for Educational Counseling for 18 months.
- Love and marriage interrupted my plans. Well, maybe not love and marriage but moving 2000 miles west sure did!
- In Provo, UT I began married life with a too-good-to-be-true husband (who is still my rock and best friend, 19 years later). For 3 years I taught 10th-12th grade at-risk boys, which proved to be one of the hardest experiences of my life, as well as one of the best experiences of my life! With indescribable joy and sleeplessness, I welcomed to our family my first two babies! These were years well-spent!
- We donned cowboy hats and our best southern accent to spend 2 short years in Dallas, TX. There I discovered the best steak in my life, fire ants, southern hospitality at it's finest and our 3rd baby. We call her our "Texas tornado"…. at a mere 5 pounds 2 ounces, Emily is a our text-book 3rd born baby!
- We fell in love with our next home and final baby in Seattle, WA. For 12 happy years we raised our kids amongst dear friends who became our family. I thrived, living and loving life as a stay-at-home mom, years of service in YW, at Girl's Camp, on the PTA Board and Site Councils. I owned a home-based business (for over 14 years) and returned to teaching as a regular substitute in the Middle School for a year. From Team Mom to Girl Scout Leader and soccer to Tae Kwan Do we covered it all and were loathe to leave, what I still claim as the "home of my heart".
- After 17 years out west, our lives came full-circle. It was a joy to return home to Rochester, NY. We cherished the opportunity to be near family and old friends again, although the time spent there was a much too short 21 month.
- Two months ago, we returned once again to UT and hope to settle down for the foreseeable future. It looks like this will be the home our children will 'fly' from. I unpacked the house, spent 2 weeks enjoying a break then dug into life full-force! I was excepted into a Master of Education program and am enrolled full time for the summer. It been a long time since I've done something so hard and I'm excited for the challenge!
